The Administration's controversial "Waters of the United States" rule was submitted to the White House last week for interagency review by the Office of Management and Budget.  The advancement brings the rule one step closer to finalization after a lengthy consideration and development process.  It is unclear how long the rule will be in review though the original timetable expects it to be finalized in Spring 2015.
On January 7, NAFSMA joined an Amicus Brief with New York City, other state and local government agencies, and other non-governmental organizations in support of New York State’s NPDES stormwater general permit requirements. The final amended amicus brief was filed on January 7, 2015 in the New York State Court of Appeals in the matter  of the Natural Resources Defense Council, Inc., et al.
On December 17th, the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) released final interagency principles and guidelines for federal investments in water resources projects.
